Current Pups
Alaskan Malamutes pups are born blind.
When a female is due to have a litter, two weeks prior to her due date, she is moved into the whelping room, 8 x 16 completely insulated, heated ( if needed, pending on the weather) . A baby monitor is added to hear the mother's and litter's every sound. When the litter of pups is born, I give round the clock supervision for the first two weeks until their eyes open.
During the period of growing, the pups are introduced to my four cats. At the age of 5 weeks, depending on the weather, mother and pups are moved into the main yard, starts socializing in between the fences with adult dogs.
When introduced AS A PUP in a home, they are very good with small animals and children. They grow, bond with the family.
Once the owner takes over the raising of the pup, finds the pup does not turn out the way the owner wants, the blame should not be on the pup, rather the owner. The owner allows the pup to get away with behavior which is considered cute, which at a later age, is not.
Their ears are very sensitive. The sounds of police siren, ambulance, coyotes, are very ear piercing to them.
Eventually they start howling. Shrills and screams from children are hard to tolerate.
These type of dogs do make a person a great pet for home, acreage. walking, hiking, packing, skijoring, carting or sledding.
I do my utmost to ensure that my pups are in excellent health, free of heredity diseases. I offer responsible Malamute enthusiasts the opportunity to own one of these special pups at a reasonable price.
I PLACE THESE PUPS WITH ACTIVE, RESPONSIBLE, CARING INDIVIDUALS, WHO HAVE THE TIME, KNOWLEDGE, ABILITY, FACILITIES, PATIENT, RESOURCES TO PROVIDE A GOOD, PERMANENT HOME where the puppy will live a long happy healthy life. THE BUYER MUST HAVE RESEARCHED THE BREED, BE WILLING TO ACCEPT THE RESPONSIBILITIES THAT GOES ALONG WITH MALAMUTE OWNERSHIP.
I am always willing to provide buyers with advice, support, literature on carting, sledding, raising, house breaking the new pup. I love to stay in touch with our new "extended families".
